The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church administers seven holy sacraments and provides a wide range of spiritual services to our congregation and community.
Baptism (ጥምቀተ ክርስትና)
ጥምቀተ ክርስትና
The first and most important sacrament. Infants are baptized on the 40th day (boys) or 80th day (girls) after birth. Adults seeking baptism must complete a preparation course.

ቅዱስ ቁርባን
The Eucharist is celebrated during every Sunday liturgy and on feast days. Communicants must be baptized, confirmed members who have fasted and prepared spiritually.

ሜሮን
The sacrament of Chrismation (anointing with holy oil) is administered immediately after baptism. It seals the gift of the Holy Spirit upon the newly baptized.

Christian marriage in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is a sacred sacrament. Couples must complete a marriage preparation course and be confirmed members of the church.

ኑዛዜ
Confession is available before Holy Communion and during major fasting periods. Members are encouraged to confess regularly as part of their spiritual life.

The church provides full funeral services for members, including the funeral liturgy, burial prayers, and memorial services (Tazkar) on the 3rd, 7th, 40th, and 80th days.

Priests are available to bless new homes, businesses, and vehicles. Contact the church office to schedule a home blessing service.

Priests are available to visit and pray for the sick, administer last rites, and provide pastoral care to members who are ill or hospitalized.
